Lead Recycling

Lead is a very easy recycling material that can be reused for an unlimited number of times and, although it is subjected to melting and refine, the final product, called secondary lead, is very similar to the primary lead obtained from minerals. Never has been so important as today the recovery and recycling of metals contained on waste for a double reason:

The mineral resources are limited and non renewable. In the particular case of lead, the known mineral reserves could last for about 30 or 40 years.

The recycling of metallic waste is the most rational and ecologically recommended way to manage them.

In the particular case of lead, through the last years, the valorisation of waste has been essential to supply most of the demand, being the rest satisfied by the mining industry and primary metallurgy.

The battery recycling rate in Spain is superior to 95% of all batteries: Only a small percentage of lead is not recycled.
